As 2007 comes to a close I take time to reflect on the year and all of the things I have accomplished. (And yes, I am blogging at work- it's a slow day)
Of course, each year there are things I wish I had done and set some resolutions for the next year. Here are my resolutions for 2008:
1. Make healthier decisions. This includes eating better, being more active, and drinking less. You know, a little of everything. I will be turning 25 in 2008 and I want to be healthy, so I'm going to work at it.
2. Become better organized. To be honest, this will be the most work. This includes picking up after myself, maintaining organization at work, and finally going through boxes that I have yet to unpack.
3. Take time for myself. I work too much. I understand that. When I come home I'm so dead that I don't want to do anything. If I actually do things that interest me and take time to do them, I will be happier. I have already signed up to take a cake decorating class starting next week. :)
4. Do something new in San Diego every month. My friend Megan and I came up with this one together and it's a joint resolution. We have big plans to eat at new restuarants, check out local museums, and general exploring. I'm pumped.
So, wish me luck as I work to better myself in 2008!

Random- Asian Grocery Store
Wow- I really need to post more often.
I now sit at my parents house on the couch in the living room, nearest the first available plug I found this morning. I have been here for almost three days and I have done absolutely nothing productive. And it feels amazing! I've slept in, watched a lot of TV, read a little, gone shopping, and wrapped gifts. Okay, maybe wrapping gifts was productive- but hey, no biggy right?
But, it has been grand!
Yesterday I went and had coffee with S and went into a new Asian supermarket. I was a little apprehensive about what an Asian supermarket would look like and I have to be honest, I am not sure I would go back. First, it replaced a Ralph's that has a special place in my life (at the OG) and they had a few things I was a little weirded out by.
First- they have stores inside the store. That's right, a jewelry store, a clothing store, a toy store, an organic food store- all within the grocery store. And there are four (count them- 4!) restaurants inside as well. To top it off (and this is what was actually gross) they had the LARGEST seafood selection I have ever seen. Including- get this- live fish that you can purchase...um...what?!?!? Catfish, some silvery shiny fish, 8 different kinds in all. They will kill 'em for ya and you can have really FRESH fish for dinner. Ew. This is the reason I don't eat seafood to begin with. I can't stand eating a piece of meat that looks like the animal it is, much less what it be killed before I consume it.
I think I would starve if I ever got stuck in the wild. You sure can't find a nice flank steak out there.
