Pack, Pack, Pack All Day Long

Pack, Pack, Pack While I Sing This Song!

I'm taking a break from packing. I'm still working on the living room and I'm already sick of it. That is not a good sign. I think I'll tackle the kitchen next. I really only need a few dishes in the next week.

I got the apartment described in my last post. I'm very excited!! I have quite a few things I do not want to take with me and I am hoping that I can get them cleaned up, get pics taken, and get them on craigslist this weekend. Anyone know someone who wants to buy a desk or two black barstools?

I have a huge box of books to take to a used book store, in hopes they will take them. I decided while packing that I no longer need all of my books from undergrad and everything in that box is related somehow to history, philosophy, or politics. I kept almost half of the books from undergrad though as well as all of my fiction! It's five full boxes of just books. And they are HEAVY! I have yet another box of books to take to work that are from grad school. They will look nice on my bookcase in my office and make me look smart! Ha!

I spent a while today finding all of my games and movies that have migrated into different places in my apartment in the last two years. I know when I start going through boxes in my closet I'll find more as well. ::sigh:: Why do I have so much CRAP!?!?

I went out with Jenny and some of her coworkers last night. I just love the Lamplighter, but it just isn't the same without the 4S. I miss everyone greatly.

Okay- back to work. Wish me luck. I only have 7 days to pack up everything. ARG.

More

This weekend I went apartment hunting. I really hope it was successful. I found one place that was good, it was fairly large- similar size to the apartment I have now, on the ground floor, and right next to the laundry room! It's in a small courtyard style apartment building, just 9 apartments. I get a parking space as well. And I'll be saving over $200/month! The guy called me today and asked me for more information and got me to have my mother fax in a form to co-sign with me. I really hope things work out.

General

Apartment hunting is tiring. My mother is here this weekend and we have been actively looking for a new apartment for me. To be honest, I'm just so tired of going into the exact same apartment on a different street with different carpet. I feel as though every single apartment is the same floor plan and that nothing we go to has everything I want. I know I'm just being a snob and that if I genuinely want to save money I will have to sacrifice something, I just don't want to!

Other than the repetitive apartment hunting things are going really well. I've been keeping myself out of trouble (mostly!) and enjoying the summer.

I read HP7 twice. Yes, twice. I rushed through it the first time because I wanted so badly to know what happened that I felt a second read through was necessary to fully understand every last detail. I think it was a great choice. I really enjoyed the book. To be honest, I am a little upset that there will be no more Harry Potter. I truly loved those books and the characters and now I will have to rely on the movies (which of course, are just mediocre) to fulfill my HP addiction. Or I can reread the series...tough choices.

Packing is meh...I haven't really started too much, but I have tons of boxes! Goals for this week: get an apartment (turn in apps, etc.), finish packing all books (take any I don't want anymore to used bookstore or give away), go through all of my clothes (take anything unwanted to goodwill), and pack up a large portion of the kitchen. Whew! Sounds exhausting!

Wish me luck!
